The US is behind many other countries in encouraging the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles. Policies have been created worldwide that aim to set up an infrastructure to support battery powered vehicles and to get gas powered cars off the road. Norway will only sell electric and hybrid vehicles ,which already make up 28% of their market, starting in 2030. The Netherlands will only sell electric vehicles starting in 2025. India has not yet created the infrastructure for electric vehicles but plans to only sell electric and hybrid starting in 2030. On a smaller scale many cities are also pushing to ban gas and diesel cars by 2030.
