Older Adults Should Be Mindful Of Cardiovascular Disease

By wochit 05 October 2016

The National Institutes of Health released results from a new study related to cardiovascular disease, in which the institute recommends that adults over age 65 continue to be aware of risks for cardiovascular disease. According to UPI, the research was published in the Journal of the American Geriatric Society. Scientists examined individuals over the course of 10-years observing the development of risk factors associated with stroke and heart disease. Several risk factors that the study focused on included high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes mellitus, and atrial fibrillation. After reviewing the data, the authors concluded that many of those risks remain relevant later in life.
