New 'Peanut Patch' May Be Able to Manage Children's Allergies

By wochit 28 October 2016

According to researchers on Wednesday, there’s more evidence that a new wearable patch may help kids with peanut allergies. The researchers concluded after a recent study that about half the kids who tested the patches were able to eat more peanut products than kids wearing a fake patch. However, they added the patch was only effective for kids in the study under the age of 11. In a statement, researchers added that the results were “modest”, however they add to a new growing body of showings that there are various ways to reduce the danger a child who is allergic to peanuts may be if they come into contact with the groundnut.
