NASA Coming Up With Plan To Probe Uranus

By Editor 27 June 2017

A department of NASA has filed an exhaustive report laying out the case for developing and ultimately launching missions to study our solar systems two ice giants, Uranus and Neptune. The Lunar and Planetary Institute have proposed a plan to visit the two giants for the first time since the Voyager missions in the 70s and 80s. The plan would not only provide researchers with the first high-resolution, up to date photos, but also aims to collect samples of gasses from the planets' atmospheres. As we currently know very little about these planets, the proposed mission could provide NASA with more information about weather patterns, magnetospheres, as well as undiscovered natural satellites.
