Maria Sharapova will return to tennis in April 2017 after a 15-month suspension, and she says she always knew she would return. The five-time grand slam champion received the 15-month suspension for testing positive for meldonium at the Australian Open in January. Drug tests found the substance in Sharapova's system from doctor-prescribed medication. The International Tennis Federation banned Sharapova for two years after the initial announcement, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced the sanction by nine months, saying she was not an "intentional doper."
