Mental health experts have a some advice for improving your memory and lowering stress levels. Take a deep breath! That's right, new research reveals that inhaling through the nose, and out through the mouth really does impact brain activity—and can even improve ones memory. In a study of 100 young adults those who inhaled through their noses, were able to recognize faces expressing fear faster than when they were exhaling. Another test, found that the participants' ability to remember objects flashing on the screen was higher if they encountered those objects during the inhaling exercise, versus exhaling.
