Is Your Partner's Stress Making You Fat?

By wochit 05 October 2016

A new study University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research found that we tend to gain weight when our partners bring a lot of stress to the relationship. In the study 2000 marital couples were measured for stress factors and they also had their waistlines measured over a 4 year period from 2006 through 2010. There's the popular belief that when couples gain weight, they are just fat and happy but the research shows, stress is a contributing factor. According to the study article published on fusion.com, there is a direct correlation between a husband's unhapiness and the wife's expanding waistline, and the hubby is going to go up in pant size when the wife reports unhappiness with the marriage. So if your mate is packing on the pounds, don't make things worse by adding stress to the sitation. Instead, find some ways to reduce stress while increasing your aerobic activity. We'll leave that up to you to figure out what activities might qualify.
