There are no conspiracy theories, viruses existed before the dawn of mankind and they will continue even after we're gone, we have to co-exist with them, there are no alternatives. As someone said, "Viruses are the link between the living and the dead" and they will keep popping up time and again.
Consider, COVID 19 is allowing us to go back to the drawing board and rewrite the next phase of our existence. The coming generations must-read. We have always chased the impossible and made a pet out of things.
Author Stephen Fry reveals the human race's incredible journey - How a small group of hunters in Africa evolved into a population of seven billion people. It took the planet 3 billion years to reach conducive conditions to support life, and here we are "the Mankind" to dominate the planet.
Here is the story of us that unfolds the turning point—steppingstones in the journey from hunter-gatherer to global citizen. It’s a fable of connections—why some ideas take hold and become viral, and how the lives of people in one part of the world are shaped by events in another.
We lived through the ice age, the advent of farming, the discovery of the New World, the fall of the Aztec empire, the Industrial Revolution and so much more. This is mankind’s story—a story of triumph and surmounting, of survival on a harsh and brutal planet. It is the story of all of us—and how, against the odds, we endured.
Now, keep calm and carry on!
In the words of actor Angela Lansbury "Better to be busy than to be busy worrying" when the world is running down, we must make the best of what's still around.
As we fast forward the "clock of Time" and scale the events chronologically, the recent past witnessed bitter events like “The two World Wars, The Spanish flu, and The Great Depression of 1929. Some defeats will enter even the most victorious life, it’s inevitable. The human spirit is never finished when it is trounced. It is finished only when it surrenders. We’ll have to confront the uncertainties at some point in time.
Epidemiologists around the world are working out short- and long-term projections to prepare for, and control, the spread and impact of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. While their forecasts and timelines vary, modelers correspond on two things: COVID-19 is here to stay, and the future depends on a lot of unknowns, including whether people develop a lasting immunity or the virus will seasonality affects its spread, and — perhaps most importantly — the adoptions made by governments and individuals that we’ve already seen for some time. “A good number of places are witnessing a relaxed unlocking and places that aren’t. We’re not clear this moment,” says Rosalind Eggo, an infectious-disease modeler at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
The future remains to be uncertain and will very much depend on how much social mixing resumes, and what kind of prevention we do,” says Joseph Wu, a disease modeler at the University of Hong Kong. The existing models and data from successful lockdowns suggest that behavioral changes can limit the spread of COVID-19 largely.
Learnings: From the very start of civilization, we gradually started manipulating nature for our benefit. To satisfy the demand of the rising population, industrialization and urbanization became the necessity, and the apparent significance was proved to be damaging for the global environment. Viruses have been co-existing with us for millions of years and way before us, if we encroach every seat thoughtlessly, injudiciously we will have to pay the price and the inevitable mankind will perish someday. The nukes could do little or nothing about it!
